a creature/group of creatures that appears to be a merchant & cart setup, possibly with the different members of the family or non-attached components of the same creature. it sells useful things, like potions and torches and whatnot, but the things are all propagations of the creature/family = the potion is real, but the bottle, the metal bracket on the torch, the box the flares come in etc… eggs that lets the creature/family of creature’s spread
they don’t attack adventurers much when they get to the family group scale, they’d rather get you guys to help them spread, and the egg/larval scale just wants to travel away from the parent cluster, but the intermediate scale…
* A large throne-like chair.
* A sword sticking out of a stone.
* A door that is unlocked, but apparently jammed.
* A ceiling fixture, like a stalactite or chandelier.
* A freestanding decoration, like a statue or an armor stand.
* A corpse impaled on spikes at the bottom of a pit trap, the corpse has something shiny gripped in it’s hand.
May I add:
* A very fine looking hat/crown
* A sleeping bag
* The cozy inn in which the adventure begins
* A warm bath
* A bag of holding
* The lock on an important looking door.
* The Dungeon entrance
* A dead Mimic
I’m just imagining the Dungeon Entrance Mimic being like something out of the Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons. Just walk into what SHOULD be an opening, only to splat into the sticky mimic skin.
