Whilst these winnings would normally be taxed at 10%, by donating gambling winnings to the church as a priestess, it doesn’t count as a charitable donation, so gets taxed again. You’re throwing the church’s money at the state! (Certainly worse things I suppose).
Or maybe winning as a priestess of Tymora and crediting it to luck, she’s making the game look like it’s rigged, discouraging honest gambling.
Were the church hoping to get rid of that money specifically as they are running out of space in the vaults?
