Just a heads up, I’m still getting frequently malware redirected. Hope you can get the hosting fixed soon. Thanks for continuing to produce these great comics!
I don’t completely understand it, but approximately:
We had a bit of an issue with a javascript injection attack, there’s a newly discovered vulnerability in all versions of comic easel (the new name for comicpress) that lets external actors do this, intermittently.
Hopefully the solution we’ve implemented should stop it.
When writing the comic, I want to confer to the reader, as effectively as possible, that this is a Stardew Valley comic. Anyone very familiar with the game should recognize Emily, or maybe recognize some of the background elements I’ve drawn – but people who are only somewhat familiar with the game might not grasp it immediately. Using “FARMER” as my name in the letter will guide some readers to the realization that this is a Stardew Valley reference who might otherwise be confused. Had I used my farmers name, that’d be meaningless to everyone – there’d be no context for it, and the clarity of information in the comic would be muddier.
Obviously, I did not call my character “farmer” I gave them a name. Official sources (like the wiki) refer to the player as “the farmer” though.
Hope that makes some sense. A lot of my writing for the comic takes into consideration “how clear or easy to follow is the comic and the punchline?”

We’re working on it. There’s a vulnerability on Comic Easel that allows these redirect attacks to happen.
I love this comic, I don’t know why my browser keeps telling me that this is a malware site

Yay comments are working again!
Why is your wife calling you Farmer?
