Look, this design has been stuck in my head for MONTHS I just had to put it down on paper so I could move on.
The lapels still gender the jacket as male.
But I love the general idea, I imagine that could significantly improve the water resistance of the jacket.
I was imagining that you could sell it with the top flap and lapels being either way around as you prefer, to avoid this issue, but a zigzag like this is always going to need to have one side “first”
You could have a system where each “join” was a detachable piece of fabric with two holes, and the buttons were fixed on both sides, but I know if I had a coat like that, I’d just lose pieces of it.
