I wonder if superheroes are part of it.
There’s been nearly 100 years of comic character names and whilst I am sure nobody at Marvel cares if you call your gladiators Bull ( https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Index/B#Bull ) or Reaper ( https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Index/R#Reaper ), I bet they would start taking notice if you called them anything recognisable like Captain America or Thor.
Well, if they’re trying to avoid Marvel characters, they’ve failed pretty badly with Electro and Phantom. :D
