I went a bit Kirby-Method with this one. It turns out that it saves time!

I didn’t do this challenge alone. Tom and Laura were taking part too, and by this point, Tom had done about 18 pages of his spider comic. Deciding that spiderlike creatures must be very fast to draw, I created the coffee spider as a point of focus for this strip.

In hindsight, it was pretty stupid of me to put Oliver in a shirt. I did this because he’s at home (so a lab coat isn’t appropriate) – and he seems like a shirt kind of guy, rather than a T-shirt kind of guy. However, shirt collars are a pain to draw. On the plus side, I got a lot of practice.
